Our Mission

Impelled by the Love of Christ, in the footsteps of our patron,
St. Chretienne, Apostle, and inspired by our Founders' sensitivity to
the needs of the time, we go out to the heart of cities, towns and villages.

We strive to proclaim Jesus Christ by our whole life and to manifest the
tender love and mercy of God our Father to all we meet,
especially the poor and the lowly.

“The love of Christ impels us...

"I want you to live." Ez. 16:6

Together, impelled by the love of Christ

let us hear this call to love and to promote life

in our communities,

ministries,

relationship,

and in creation.

Let us dare to trust in the future.

Our Congregation

We are an international Congregation of Religious Women. Our Motherhouse is in Metz, France. We are a close-knit group with our Sisters from eight countries: France, Canada, Austria/Hungary, the country of Georgia, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Tanzania.

We form a faith-family, the St. Chretienne Alliance, with our Associates and Friends as we are impelled to announce the Good News of Christ’s love and mercy to all, especially to our sisters and brothers who are poor and lowly.

In our current congregational context, our realities differ. In the northern hemisphere, our Sisters devoted their lives to education, nursing, and pastoral ministry. As their ages have advanced, they now find themselves needing assistance in healthcare facilities, but are still vibrant, spending much time in prayer, with concern/compassion toward anyone in need.

In the African region, our Sisters are engaged in education, healthcare ministries, and social services, meeting the needs of the people among whom they are sent, often bringing hope amid the poverty and harsh conditions in which they live.
